Presencly ("we", "us", "our") is a UK-based website design and build service for local businesses and sole traders. We operate at presencly.co.uk and can be contacted at hello@presencly.co.uk.
We are the data controller for the personal data we collect about you. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
2. What personal data we collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Contact and business information — your name, email address, business name, business type, and location, provided when you complete our website questionnaire.
- Questionnaire responses — details about your business including services offered, target customers, branding preferences, and website requirements.
- Payment information — when you pay a deposit or final invoice, your payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card number, CVV, or full payment details. We retain a record of the transaction amount, date, and Stripe session ID.
- Uploaded files — any logo files, photographs, or other assets you upload through our service.
- Communications — emails or messages you send to us.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected automatically by our hosting provider (Vercel).
3. How we use your personal data
We use your personal data for the following purposes and on the following legal bases:
Providing our service
Legal basis: contract performance (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR)
We use your name, email, business details, and questionnaire responses to generate your website quote, build your website, and communicate with you throughout the project.
Sending your quote and project updates
Legal basis: contract performance and legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(b) and (f) UK GDPR)
We email your quote, deposit requests, project milestones, and delivery confirmation.
Abandoned quote follow-ups
Legal basis: legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR)
If you begin our questionnaire but do not complete it, we may send up to three follow-up emails reminding you that your quote is saved. You can opt out at any time by replying to any of these emails or contacting us at hello@presencly.co.uk.
Processing payments
Legal basis: contract performance and legal obligation (Article 6(1)(b) and (c) UK GDPR)
We use your name and email to process payments via Stripe and to maintain financial records as required by law (typically 6–7 years).
4. Who we share your data with
We share your personal data with the following third-party service providers:
Supabase
Database and file storage. Data is stored in the EU (AWS eu-west-1). Privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy
Stripe
Payment processing. Stripe processes card data directly and is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. Privacy policy: stripe.com/gb/privacy
Resend
Transactional email delivery (quotes, invoices, follow-ups). Privacy policy: resend.com/legal/privacy-policy
Vercel

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your personal data with any third party for their own marketing purposes.

Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK or EEA. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (such as UK adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses) in accordance with UK GDPR Chapter V.
